The Little Blue Tug......

Dia Duit, some weeks ago, when I finished Bubby's Shoes Quilt for a friend at work.....another colleague asked me if I would kindly make a quilt for their baby.....which is due in January.....I promptly said ...yes...

The last six weeks have been a struggle for me....and I had forgotten my promise......last Wednesday while queueing for lunch at the canteen...I saw Lee....and remembered my promise....so asked 101 questions about baby's nursery.......it is all white...with a nautical theme of red, blue and white....

The same afternoon, I had to travel to my old stomping ground...... to see my specialist........as usual I was miles to early for my appointment....DH was with me......so we sat awhile at the bull ring .....it was a clear day and a great view of the city skyscrapers and the bay..of Melbourne....we watched the pilot launch head across to Station Pier.....
on the way back to the specialist....there was a speciality shop with Nautical theme products....so I made a bee line inside.....DH chose a lovely life ring mirror in red and white with the saying...Welcome Aboard.....next a visit to the local patchwork store....pictured above is part of the fabric I purchased....I fussy cut the little tugs out of the meter age......next day I went to work....and showed Lee.......the request was for blues in the quilt......my colour matching was sound.....
I only worked a half day.....so on the way home...called into the patchwork shop and purchased the blue/white fabrics....
Each evening while dinner has been cooking......I worked on the quilt..... little by little.......until it was completed....it was a variation to Bubbys Shoes Quilt.........
Today DH and I had a much needed day out of the house....tomorrow I have to have another test...which I am not looking forward to......tonight I am being antsy.........next is for The little Blue Tug to be quilted and bound.....

Your friend will be delighted, Lyn! You are so sweet, to make her a baby quilt, even though there is so much going on in your life! I admire you for that.
Good luck tomorrow!

The Baby quilt is looking lovely, so nice of you to fit this in with your busy schedule of late!
I'm a bit behind at the moment, I hope things went well with that nasty little procedure! Take care!
