The Beraggled Campers.........Home Again

Dia Duit, glad to be home again, to some sunny weather....what a holiday we had.......pictured above the storms brewing........shot at Beechworth....mid afternoon ...on our first day of holidays...not a good om eon
Poor little camper......copped a beating overnight.......had to stay an extra day to dry out.....
Before we made crossed the Snowy Mountains....we took a wrong turn.....I know this eagle only looks like a speck in the photo....but he was huge...........
The following three pics will show you the difference in the vegetation as we crossed the Snowy's.

This pic gives you an idea of the weather we copped for the last two weeks..........every move we made.....the torrential rain came back upon us......when we stayed at Tathra....the little Camper stood up well until the second day...but there was no let up with the torrential rain.....we were drenched to the skin three times......calf deep in water......when the gale force winds came in....I had had enough......we packed the camper away sopping wet....and stayed in a cabin....to dry out........not the holiday I envisaged........we travelled to Mallacoota....luck we had sunlight for two hours....which was spent drying everything out.....nothing worse than wet bedding...I had double bagged everything.....
Next stop, Lakes Entrance....a reprieve from the wild weather....a chance to relax....look at these three.....love pelicans....
 Sunset at Lakes Entrance.
We then travelled to Phillip Island for the Historical Car racing....Rob was sitting reading and did not notice the wallaby grazing nearby.....
Well prepared with the tarps secure..........
Nearby a Melbourne School on Camp......notice the second tent...DH wisecrack was that it was me that had put the tent up.....notice how it is skewwiff....
Yesterday, at San Remo Pier where we watched the pelicans being feed...in the shallows four large Sting Rays......
Sometimes mankind has no sense...originally the six pelicans were on the sand ....getting ready to go to the designated area to be hand feed......but were chased into the water...because they were too close to them....
Time to depart after being feed.
Slañ, O'faigh

Well Lyn! You did get the full range of weather types on your trip, oh my! all that rain wouldn't have been too much fun, but Lakes Entrance looks beautiful! I remember driving through there many, many years ago and it was a gorgeous spot! I bet it's good to be home after your adventure and it must be so good to sleep in your own bed once again...hopefully snuggled up under your CW quilt!!!!

I was just thinking about you this morning! Glad you are home, safe, sound, and (dry?)!! We were talking about camping in the rain just yesterday and how uncomfortable it is. Lovely pictures, Lyn. Can't imagine camping and having a wallaby hopping around nearby!! ~karen

My idea of camping is the local Hilton - NOT a soggy camper, by far! Well I'm glad you finally got to the sunshine, girl! The Snowy Mountains look so amazing and beautiful! Welcome home!
