The Grampians Part 1
Dia Duit, hard to believe this coming Saturday, it has been thirty four years since DH brought me to Halls Gap, The Grampians for our honeymoon. It has been some time since we stayed at the main Caravan Park in the Main St of Halls Gap.
The Camp Kitchen, makes it easy to prepare meals.
Spring has sprung by the look of these daffodils.
It saddened me to hear that there our no Koala's now. Thirty four years ago, was a different story. I remember, when I went to the camp shower, there was a koala sitting in the shower. I rushed back to tell my new husband, when he came to look, the koala had come out and was making his way up a small sapling....grin...he was so fat he fell out......I was amazed at the sounds the koals makes....quite extradionery. There were many kangaroo's at the Caravan Park, we had to be very mindful of Spot and Molly. Many Kangaroo's had joey's in their pouches....you could see either a little joey's face peering out or the joey's tail and hind legs.
Last Sunday we travelled the Mount Zero road to go to my brothers for a barbie lunch. I was distressed to see how severe the fires had been that went through the Northern end of the Grampians last January. I have a soft spot for grass tree's. Apparantly, the only time they flower is after a fire has come through.I have shown you a pic of the flowering grass tree.
Spot and Molly, were such good dogs, so well behaved. The Grampians is where they come from, and we took them back to see their Mum, Jessie....sadly Jessie still would not acknowledge her babies......what does one do....Spot and Molly went into Max and Jennys house checked out their Mum's bed....went into the family room....jumped on the sofa and promptly fell asleep....grin......so they have two homes....Spot was in the bad books...Max and Jenny have a large steer called Tiny.....and of course Spot was rounding Tiny up.......
Last but not least, the wildflowers are starting to come out.....this pic was taken at the Devil's Garden.Sl~an, O'faigh
